In Australian aboriginal cultures, a "walkabout" is a ritual in which a young man goes on a solitary journey through the wilderness, it is much like the Native American Indian "vision quest", in an attempt to learn more about his own character and strength. Hence the name for this page. I spend a lot of my time thinking about truth and how to help myself and others.
I believe I have found the most correct religion on earth. This doesn't mean I understand all that it teaches or all of the ways such teachings apply to life. It just means I believe, that as far as religion goes, that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the most correct one around. Sure, you can find most of the teachings of the LDS church in pieces here, or there; however, it seems rare to find most of it, or all of it, all in one religion. I did this by more or less going "in-active" as the LDS people say. I stopped going to church and explored it and other religions. Once I settled on the LDS faith, I started trying to live it. Not an easy thing to do. Any truth, and definitely the LDS faith, is like an onion. Every time you think you get somewhere, you peel away a layer and find so much more.
In all of this trying to peel the onion, in trying to be better and do better, I have come to many conclusions. This site is about my ideas and feelings. I hope that it helps you on your journey to find the truth.
I am no prophet, nor have I been really called to teach and preach, other than the scripture - Doctrine and Covenants 88:81 "... and it becometh every man who hath been warned to warn his neighbor." If you want official church views go here. If you want to learn about the LDS church, go here.
I am also still learning myself. I am also just another mortal human being who makes lots of mistakes. This site is an expression of what I feel, think, and believe. The fact that I am not perfect, that I am still learning, and still figuring out what I have learned means this site will be changing and may contain inaccurate content. I would suggest that at most, you use this site as a place to start thinking and looking for answers yourself. The best places to look are answers in personal prayers, living prophets and apostles, and the scriptures.
Good luck in your quest!
P.S. If you are looking for gospel nonessentials, look someplace else. All of the content here is about being better, doing better, helping others, and understanding the important and poignant parts of the gospel.
